SQL Server 2014 CTP1 is now available

Microsoft SQL Server 2014 is the next version of the SQL Server. It has lots of new and advanced capabilities over its predecessor including the In-Built In-Memory OLTP. I wrote about the new features of SQL Server 2014 in the article SQL Server 2014: What can we expect?

Microsoft has release the first preview version (CTP1) of SQL server 2014 now. It is available for public download. You can download SQL server 2014 CTP1 from Microsoft TechNet website. It comes only in 64 bit edition.

This first preview version of SQL Server 2014 can be installed only in a fresh machine or virtual machine which does not have the older versions of SQL Server installed. So it will be good if you can create a new Virtual machine with fresh Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit or Server 2012 R2 64 bit and install the SQL Server 2014 CTP1 on it.

Below is the link to the download location and the documents you may need for the SQL Server 2014 CTP1.
